While the record-breaking jackpot still up for grabs escalated passed the $1.8 million mark at Empire City Casino on Sunday (June 18), a Yonkers woman brought home the third six-figure jackpot in less than a month at the Yonkers-based casino.
$1.8 Million Score will be a “Life-Changer”
The lucky local lady, identified as “Lynneth,” scored for $104,398 at 3:00 pm on Sunday when a $5.00 wager on the $1 denomination Black Gone Wild slot-machine paid the major dividends.
Within the past few weeks, the Casino celebrated two other six-figure jackpot wins. On May 27, James E. Dobson traveled from Maryland to hit a $143,723 jackpot with a $10 wager on the $5 denomination Wheel of Fortune machine, while on May 21, another lucky James made a shorter trip from The Bronx when James M. hit a $149,931 jackpot with a $6 wager, also on a Wheel of Fortune $1 denomination slot.
Empire City boasts the sixth largest gaming floor in the country and currently is home to the largest jackpot of any of New York’s racetrack casinos. The life-changing, record-breaking jackpot continues to grow, eclipsing the previous all-time Empire City, and overall New York racetrack casino, jackpot record hit by Howard Gershowitz of Suffolk County, Long Island for $1,473,503 on October 25, 2015.
The Wheel of Fortune Triple Star slot is one of the most popular slot machines in the world. There have been many television show-themed slots that have attempted to bring the action from the screen to the slot world, but none have succeeded in the dazzling style of Wheel of Fortune, which has captivated gamblers for years with high jackpots and spinning money wheels.
