Cigars, baby lamb chops, a Super Bowl champion from the home team, and old and new friends made for a smokin’ grand night last Thursday.
Empire City Casino, one of the largest entertainment destinations in the northeast located less than two miles north of New York City, hit the “Big Apple” on July 28, when vice president of marketing Ryan Murphy. aide de camp Brandon Landy, and the ever-able and enthusiastic staff hosted a group of the casino’s VIP guests at The Grand Havana Room in New York City. Two-time Super Bowl titlist David Diehl of the New York Football Giants was a very special guest who delighted Empire City’s top players.
The popular former offensive tackle, who spent his entire 11-year career with “Big Blue,” mingled and posed for photographs with the casino’s top players, and enjoyed a cigar in the President’s Room at the famous venue. The man is not only a world champion, but he’s a world class human being, too.
We got to meet many of Empire City’s top patrons, and caught up with Conor Mara, the casino’s marketing supervisor, the just-married Sean Mara, former Fordham QB and Cirillo World intern – both former students, too – and met nice guy Tim Rooney III. The apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree as these three outstanding young man are from two of outstanding families in all of sports.
The grand photos were snapped by world class photographer William Cherry, in from Belfast to cover the smashing Carl Frampton vs. Leo Santa Cruz Featherweight Championship fight at Barclays Center two nights later.
It was a smokin’ evening, and there are sure to be more in the coming months as Empire City continues its first class efforts for its customer base.
