Lucy Agatha Rogan Carlesimo, 93, died peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2016, in her home in Bronxville, N.Y. Beloved wife of the late Pete Carlesimo, loving mother of 10, P.J., Cheryl, Gregg, Mark, Kevin, Tara, Mari, Sean, Rogan, and Cory, devoted grandmother of 13, dear sister of Florita Caines, aunt to many nieces and nephews and dear friend to many.
Before Pete’s passing in 2003, after 54 years of marriage, Lucy and Pete had exciting years together at the University of Scranton, and Fordham University, Pete’s Alma Mater, where he was Athletic Director, and later became the first full-time Director of the National Invitational Tournament. Lucy and Pete traveled with NIT teams all over the world. And they followed with great pride their oldest son P.J’s. celebrated career as a college, Olympic, and NBA coach.
Her abiding, enduring Catholic faith remained a great comfort to her as she battled different ailments through the last few years.
Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 4 to 8pm Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial, Chapel at Fordham University at Rose Hill, Bronx on Thursday April 14 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to FACES at NYU Medical Center.
